With Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition releasing in May, I want to remind everyone of a fun little glitch you can perform in the Wii U rendition of Hyrule Warriors.
This glitch is relatively easy to conduct and fills your wallet with 9,999,999 rupees. This is definitely helpful for upgrading weapons, obtaining badges, and leveling up characters. In this article, I will show you how to effectively perform the rupee glitch in a way that I have found to be the easiest.
In order to perform the rupee glitch, you will need Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U, Lana (unlocked and playable), and her Summoning Gate weapon. Her Summoning Gate will need all combo upgrades, the Rupees+ skill, and the Strong Attack+ skill. At the Bazaar, you can upgrade her combos in the Badges section and manage skills in the Smithy.
Once you are prepared to take on the glitch, complete the following steps:
- Enter Adventure Mode, then the Adventure Map.
- Go to tile G5. The “A” Rank Victory for this tile is a Heart Container for Agitha and the Challenge Battle is to defeat two Gohmas within the time limit.
- Play as Lana with the Summoning Gate weapon. The Summoning Gate must have the Rupees+ and Strong Attack + skill on it.
- Upon entering the battle, immediately equip the arrows, as you’ll need them to fight Gohma. This can be done by dragging your stylus across the Wii U Pad.
- Head to the left Gohma. Before you lock onto her, press Y, your combo attack. Roll through the bosses until you summon Argorok.
- After summoning Argorok, wait for Gohma to attack and immediately shoot an arrow at her. You want to be quick with this, as Argorok doesn’t stick around forever.
- Use Lana’s combo 5, her last combo, while Argorok is summoned. This will allow you to surf on Argorok. Hell yeah.
- Surf across Argorok to immediately defeat her. Gohma’s weak point will be active, but your final blow shouldn’t trigger the Weak Point smash animation. You will defeat her before the animation is triggered.
- Immediately take out the enemies around her. Try to take out as many as you can without pushing Gohma around, since this will prevent her from dying.
- Profit.
If you time it correctly, the rupee gauge will break. I don’t think you necessarily have to defeat the little enemies around her in order to perform the glitch, but it’s hard not to when they’re all around her.
A few things to keep in mind, though. This rupee glitch has reportedly worked on multiple bosses. It also does not matter what character or weapon you use, as long as that weapon has the Rupees+ skill. The only reason I recommend having the Strong Attack+ skill is so you can unlock that Argorok surfing technique in her fifth combo. You basically just need to defeat a boss quickly, before the weak point smash animation. You can check out our video of this glitch, which pretty much summarizes this article, here:
With how massive of a game Hyrule Warriors is, performing the max rupee glitch will not be all the rupees you need to 100% complete it. But regardless, it’s extremely helpful, and can make your hack-and-slash experience significantly easier with things like higher-level characters and new upgrades. While 100% completing this game, I had to perform this glitch over 100 times in order to level up all playable characters at the Training Dojo. So, I have a nice amount of experience and am willing to answer any questions you might have.
