Stardew Valley’s Multiplayer Update Arrives on December 12th

by Tawny

Great news for our Stardew Valley farmers out there: ConcernedApe recently announced that Stardew Valley 1.3, the multiplayer update, will come to the Nintendo Switch console on Wednesday, December 12th. This update allows players to invite 1 to 3 friends to their valley for farming, fishing, foraging, and more!

Players will also be able to communicate in-game with the Nintendo Switch online voice chat or the game’s new chat box feature with colored text and nearly 200 custom emojis. Additionally, the update supports local communications play, so two to four consoles can connect nearby and play the game together.

The Stardew Valley 1.3 update will also add new single-player content to the game that was previously exclusive to the PC version to the game. This additional content includes the three-day Night Market event, new character events, secret events, a “new ‘secret’ type of collection,” hats for horses, and more.
