There’s a sweet, new fighter coming to Arms, one of Nintendo’s newest IPs, and you could definitely say she packs a punch.
Meet Lola Pop: a colorful clown-esque fighter with lollipop hair, poofy pants, and a big red nose. According to her introductory trailer, Lola Pop can not only double jump, but her ability allows her to inflate her trousers like a balloon. When doing so, she can not only guard herself from incoming punches, but block mid-air as well.
The trailer reveals her default ARMS, including nunchucks (yes, nunchucks) that seem like a brand new kind of weapon. Another pair of ARMS she will receive resemble a combination of the Hydra and the Blorb, which can presumably be a good choice against Ribbon Girl or players who jump a lot. And lastly, a pair of Guardian-like ARMS were revealed, which look like they counter punches. This is an interesting take on the Guardian ARMS that already exist.
Lola Pop will be coming to Arms in the game’s next update, version 1.3.
Another “Global Testpunch” is also coming to Arms this weekend. It will open at 11 AM EST on Friday, August 25th, and run until Sunday, August 27th, at 5 PM EST. For those of you with a Nintendo Switch that are interested in Arms: try and check it out during the Global Testpunch. In my honest opinion, it is a ton of fun, and Lola Pop will undoubtedly make a fun addition to the game.
