Revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct for E3 2018, Nintendo officially announced the story DLC expansion for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The expansion is titled Torna: The Golden Country. Of course, the main game is required to play the DLC.

The expansion takes place 500 years before the events of the main story, during the Aegis War. In the DLC, you will follow the warriors Addam, Mythra, Lora, Haze, Brighid, and Jin, who fight against Malos, an Aegis Blade that aims to bring the world to an end. The gameplay looks mainly familiar, but players can now control Blades, personified weapons, as well as their Drivers, the masters that wield them. There also seems to be another character who looks like Niles, the Ardainian emperor.
Players can now switch between Drivers and Blades.
Torna: The Golden Country will be available for download on September 14 for those who have purchased the expansion pass for the game. Purchase separately, it will release on September 21.
