Luigi’s Mansion 3 Announced for Switch

by Garrett Boyle

September 13’s Nintendo Direct presentation opened with a reveal trailer for Luigi’s Mansion 3, a working title scheduled for 2019.

While no details about the new title were discussed during the presentation, the trailer did provide hints about the game. Based on the room numbers above certain doors, a custodian’s cleaning cart, and gender-specific bathroom signs, it is same to assume that the mansion in the trailer is a public building; perhaps a hotel.

In one scene, a suitcase with Mario’s M logo is tipped over, so that character was probably in this mansion. Later in the video, there some posters hanging above Luigi that have his and Mario’s faces crossed out on them.

Polterpup, a ghost enemy from the previous game Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, makes an appearance at the end of the trailer.

The first Luigi’s Mansion title released on the Nintendo GameCube in 2001,  which is being ported to the Nintendo 3DS, due out on October 12, 2018. Its sequel, subtitled Dark Moon, released on the 3DS in 2013.
