Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore Announced for the Nintendo Switch

by Garrett Boyle

One of the oddities of the Nintendo Wii U console era was an often overlooked game called Tokyo Mirage Session ♯FE. This turn-based RPG was a crossover between the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei series. While the influence of both game series is clearly seen in its characters and gameplay, Tokyo Mirage Sessions had its own unique identity. The game has the player balance living life in Tokyo as a Japanese idol while also fighting dark forces that steal talent energy called “Performa” from people.

As strange as it sounds, the game was quite fun and bursting with personality, with its music as one of its most memorable aspects. During the recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo saw fit announce that Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore is coming to the Nintendo Switch system. This updated port will have additional features such as extra story content, a new song, and more characters that will help in battles. It seems Tiki from Fire Emblem will aid players this time around.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore will release on the Nintendo Switch on January 17, 2020.
