Some surprising and EXTREMELY exciting news for Zelda fans!
Nintendo has revealed an official trailer for the Champions’ Ballad, the latest DLC pack for Breath of the Wild, which just released this evening. This second DLC pack is available for Breath of the Wild on both the Wii U and the Switch. It has an all-new original story revolving around the Champions, which takes place 100 years prior to the main story. The DLC also includes a new dungeon, new pieces of armor, and more. Let’s take a closer look at the trailer.
First of all, what an awesome video. I was not at all expecting to see the DLC drop the same time as the trailer, but hey. I’m not complaining. The video features a closer look at the Champions and some of their iconic moments before pursuing the Divine Beasts. We also get to see some of the new armor coming to the game, including Ravio’s hat, Zant’s helmet, and a full outfit inspired by Phantom Ganon in Ocarina of Time. We also see cutscenes including King Rhoam and, of course, Princess Zelda. But I think we can all agree that the highlight of the trailer is the Master Cycle Zero.
Link? On a motorcycle? Yes, please.
I mean… Wow. I don’t know about you guys, but this is my first time hearing about the Master Cycle Zero. No need for horses! Link has a motorcycle, folks I’m excited to see more details on this sweet ride, along with the rest of the DLC pack.
The Champions’ Ballad is the second part of Breath of the Wild’s Expansion Pass, which costs $19.99. The first pack, released back in June, gave us many goodies like the Trial of the Sword and new pieces of armor. You can check out more details on the Expansion Pass here.
