Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Announced for Switch

by Garrett Boyle

As the final announcement of the recent Nintendo Direct, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition was revealed for the Nintendo Switch system. The original game released in the Americas in 2012 for the Nintendo Wii and was eventually ported to the Nintendo 3DS in 2015. It was followed by two other games, Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Nintendo Wii U and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch.

During the brief glimpse of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, it was easy to see, for those who are familiar with the original game, that the graphics have received a major improvement. This is clearly seen in the characters, such as in Shulk, whose model seems to have been completely overhauled.

I am really feeling these updated graphics.

The environments have had new life breathed into them as well, with cleaner edges and more foliage in the landscapes. Other than the updated graphics, there is no certainty about what else this revitalized Xenoblade Chronicles will have to offer. Thankfully, we do know that the game will release sometime in 2020.
