Nintendo President Kimishima Steps Down, Replaced with Furukawa

Today Nintendo announced that Tatsumi Kimishima resigned from his position as current company president. 46-year-old Shuntaro Furukawa will be taking his place. 

Managing Executive Officer, Supervisor of Corporate Analysis & Administration Divison, and Director of Nintendo Shuntaro Furukawa will lead the company as Nintendo president. Furukawa has worked for Nintendo since 1994, previously working as The Pokémon Company’s chief financial officer. He was also president of Nintendo of America in 2002, primarily working behind the scenes and away from the public eye.

Nintendo allocated him as company president after preceding president Satoru Iwata passed away. Kimishima will continue to work for the company in an advisory position.
