Fighter Pass Vol. 2 Revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

by Garrett Boyle

After the Masahiro Sakurai’s presentation on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch, the full content first wave DLC included in the Fighters Pass has officially been revealed. The fifth DLC fighter of the pass will be coming soon, but the anticipation for more fighters has not settled. As the Smash series producer Sakurai has stated in the past, even more fighters will be added to the game in the future.

As such, another set of Challengers will be included with Fighter Pass Vol. 2. This time, there will be six Challenger Packs in all. If the upcoming content is comparable to before, each Challenger Pack will include a new playable character, a stage, additional music tracks, and a Spirit Board.

As when the Fighter Pass was announced, no upcoming characters were revealed with Vol. 2 just yet. Sakurai has stressed that all future DLC characters have already been decided, so it would be difficult for him to take requests. He has also asked players to purchase it if they have faith in the content they will receive. A footnote was shown during the announcement that all content for the pass will be released by December 31, 2021, so it may be nearly two years before it is all released.

However, those that purchase the pack will be able to download the Ancient Soldier Armor, based on a gear set from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Ancient Soldier Armor is based on several pieces of Sheikah equipment from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Fighter Pass Vol. 2 will be available for pre-purchase on January 28.
